My 'Tasia is starting to really worry me. Since we moved here she has mostly kept to sordak's and my bedroom (which is huge). Any time she has ventured past the 'puppy' gate the dogs have delighted in pesticating her - Jessie being the instigator. Today, after we got home from taking the dogs to visit Mom, 'Tasia decided to wander out of the 'protected' area and was intent on visiting me and/or going into the hall bathroom to lay in the sink.
She is at the maximum dosage for her thyroid medicine, her incontinence has gotten worse, and, despite being fed three times a day, she is getting skinnier and skinnier. I don't think she even weighs four pounds. And she used to be a hefty fourteen pounds. That she has lived to 20 years old is, I believe, a testament to her courage and love.
But I think I'm going to have to take her to the vet this week and I am afraid of the verdict. I have had her since she was six weeks old and I am sure she has outlived all her siblings. I know she has outlived her first litter. So, it may be time for her to journey over the Rainbow Bridge and meet Cloak and Dagger, her daughters.
But she is old, arthritic, addled and ill and I really do not want her to suffer. She has given me so much and it is the least I can do for her.
